Institutional Excellence through Climatic Intelligence

This comprehensive campus masterplan and building design for Govt. Boys High School, Mehar, serves as a model for sustainable educational infrastructure. The design seamlessly integrates academic blocks with open courtyards and shaded zones, prioritizing student interaction and natural light.

Drawing inspiration from Colonial Revival and Neoclassical influences, the architectural language is reinterpreted to suit the regional context of Sindh. The result is a dignified institutional presence that remains thermally comfortable even in extreme summer temperatures.

PROJECT CONCEPT

The proposal centers on a holistic approach to learning environments, balancing traditional aesthetics with advanced passive cooling.

  • Integration of academic blocks, open courtyards, and landscaped zones to promote daylight and natural ventilation.
  • Use of 16-inch thick cavity walls throughout the structure to dramatically slow external heat transfer into classroom interiors.
  • Deep-set, north-facing corridors protected by white balustrades and columns to ensure cool, shaded transit areas.
  • Flat roofs feature dual 4-inch layers of waterproofed heat insulation applied both above and below the screed for superior thermal resistance.
  • Implementation of terracotta roof shingles to provide an additional insulating layer and reflect solar heat.
  • A modern interpretation of Colonial Revival and Neoclassical styles tailored for the Pakistani educational landscape.

Innovative architecture blending functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability to create timeless spaces.
