A Bold Response to the Corner Context

The Bahria Corner Residence is a 9,000 sq.ft family home designed to stand as a landmark on its prominent corner site in Karachi. The design intent was to create a boldly contemporary and functionally cohesive space that reflects modern simplicity.

By utilizing a minimalist, rectilinear architectural style, the residence achieves a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic. The structure is defined by flat roofs, clean edges, and strong geometric lines, carefully avoiding excessive ornamentation to focus on pure form and material honesty.

PROJECT CONCEPT

The architectural approach focuses on breaking the scale of the large structure through dynamic massing and a refined material palette.

  • A rectilinear design language that emphasizes clean edges and strong vertical and horizontal planes.
  • The use of protruding and recessed geometric volumes to introduce a rhythmic play of shadow and depth across the facade.
  • Strategic volumetric shifts ensure the large-scale residence maintains a balanced, non-monolithic appearance.
  • A primary backdrop of light gray and white render serves as a calming base for the building's mass.
  • Matte black and dark gray metal work used for framing and window trims to sharply define architectural edges.
  • Strategic application of warm timber cladding to introduce natural texture and a human scale to the contemporary structure.

Innovative architecture blending functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability to create timeless spaces.
