Dignified Living in a Heritage Context

This residential project for the staff of the historic NJV Govt. High School in Karachi is a study in heritage sensitivity. The architecture embraces a Neo-Classical Minimalist Revival style, designed to harmonize seamlessly with the school’s existing historic structures.

The design balances symmetry and rhythmic fenestration to create a structure that feels both modern and deeply rooted in its environment. By utilizing light-toned stone cladding, the building pays homage to Karachi’s iconic yellow sandstone architecture while providing durable, high-functioning modern living spaces.

PROJECT CONCEPT

The design intent focuses on aesthetic continuity and structural balance to complement the school’s heritage.

  • A refined architectural style that pairs classical proportions with minimalist restraint.
  • Use of balanced massing and symmetry to ensure the new building respects the school's historic fabric.
  • Light-toned stone cladding inspired by traditional Karachi yellow sandstone architecture.
  • Carefully spaced window openings that create a consistent visual rhythm across the facade.
  • Inclusion of horizontal balcony bands and traditional balustrades to add architectural depth.
  • A thoughtful blend of historic sensitivity and modern materials to ensure long-term durability.

Innovative architecture blending functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability to create timeless spaces.
